Never direct your own plays!!!                                                                                                                      Me with Al Thorne and Louise Cantrill discussing the finer points of Murdering the Truth

I grew up in Edinburgh and have lived in London for a few years now, having worked as a journalist in Scotland, Hampshire, Norfolk and London.  My first (co-written) play was Murdering the Truth, which was performed at Greenwich Theatre in 2009, and since then I’ve had work performed in London, Glasgow, Portsmouth, Brighton, Arundel, the Isle of Wight, Wales, and the Orkney Islands.   Internationally, I’ve made it to Perth, Australia, British Columbia in Canada, and Lucerne in Switzerland and Antwerp in Belgium.

Prizes include the SCDA’s Best Depiction of Scottish Life and Character (for Confessional, 2018), the Constance Cox (for Normandy Conquests, 2015) and Write Now (for Better Together at the Brockley Jack, London, 2016). I’ve twice been long listed for the Bruntwood Prize, Britain’s leading playwriting prize, and have also been a Kenneth Branagh Award finalist and multiple shortlister.

Confessional featured in the Spring Season of the internationally famous Oran Mor Play, Pie and Pint at Glasgow in May 2017, starring Jonathan Watson, Sally Reid and Cameron Fulton.
